Brief introduction of Ronaldo

Cristiano Ronaldo is a Portuguese striker who currently plays for Manchester United and captains the Portugal national team.

With more than 750 career goals, Ronaldo is considered one of the greatest soccer players of all time, having won more than 30 major trophies, including five  UEFA Champions League titles  . League; UCL), a UEFA European Championship and a UEFA Nations League.

As it stands, Ronaldo holds the record for most goals and assists in Champions League history with 130 and 41, respectively.

Ronaldo at Manchester United

Ronaldo, who was Manchester United ‘s first Portuguese signing  , had the most expensive signing for a teenager in the 2003-2004 season. He proved his worth by becoming one of the best players in Europe. While Ronaldo was playing in England, he became the first player to break the 20-goal barrier and helped United win their first league title in four years. His achievements did not go unnoticed as he received the Professional Footballers’ Association Player of the Year, Young Player of the Year and the Football Writers’ Association Footballer of the Year, making him the first player to receive four major awards. of the PFA and the FWA for two consecutive seasons. He also won the Premier League Golden Boot League for his 31 goals and the European Golden Shoe, the first winger to achieve the feat.

In the Champions League, Ronaldo inspired United to win the prestigious European tournament that earned him the UEFA Footballer of the Year award. Ronaldo completed his time with United with the Ballon d’Or award, becoming the first Premier League player to be named FIFA World Player of the Year. He also received the FIFA Puskas award for best goal and won the Premier League with United for the third time. Ronaldo claimed a total of nine trophies while at Manchester United.

Ronaldo secured a move to  Real Madrid  before the start of the 2009-2010 season. During his time at Madrid he forged an attacking trio, known as the BBC, an acronym for Bale, Benzema and Cristiano with his teammates. He enjoyed a successful run, which made him admit that he was in the best shape of his career.

Ronaldo won the FIFA Ballon d’Or, a fusion of the FIFA World Player of the Year and the Ballon d’Or. Ronaldo also helped Madrid to its tenth European Championship. Ronaldo particularly achieved more in his final days with Madrid becoming the first Madrid player to score a total of 5,900 goals. He also became the first player to score 100 goals in a UEFA club competition. Ronaldo became the top scorer in the UEFA Champions League for the fifth consecutive season. He led Madrid to their twelfth European title, La Duodécima earning him his fifth Player of the Year award. Ronaldo received the  Ballon d’Or award  a day after winning the FIFA Best Men Player Award. The high point of his final days in Madrid was his overhead kick goal in the 3-0 away victory over Juventus, which was praised by the rival fans. The goal was labeled a “Playstation goal” by Juventus defender Andrea Barzagli.

During his three years at Juventus, Ronaldo played 134 matches for Juventus in various competitions, including 98 Serie A matches, 13 domestic cup matches and 23 Champions League matches. He scored a total of 101 goals and 22 assists. He is a Serie A player, Serie A Golden Boot and other personal honors, helping Juventus win 5 championships.

Ronaldo’s return to Man.United

After spending three full seasons with the Old Lady, in which Ronaldo scored 81 goals in 98 games, the 36-year-old decided to leave his time in Italy behind.

After strong links with Manchester City, Ronaldo informed his teammates that he would be leaving the club immediately in August 2021 and appeared to embark on his journey back to England.

However, in typically dramatic circumstances, Ronaldo’s former team, Manchester United, also entered the race for his signature, and a tug-of-war began between the two football powers.

Finally, on 31 August it was confirmed that Ronaldo had reunited with his former team for a fee of £25 million, 12 years after his initial departure to Real Madrid. And he was given  Ronaldo’s Manchester United shirt  with the same number as before: number 7. .
